Blair Schlecter

Mr. Schlecter was born and raised in Sherman Oaks, California.  He received his undergraduate degree in political science and history from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.  During his undergraduate years, he also studied abroad at the University of Sussex in Brighton, England.

Mr. Schlecter graduated from UC Hastings College of Law in 2004.  While a student there, he was a student government representative and served on the admissions committee. He is admitted to the State Bar of California, the United States District Court for the Central District of California and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is also a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Mr. Schlecter is extensively involved in the firm’s municipal liability and appellate practice, which includes handling constitutional and related civil rights cases on behalf of government agencies and officials. His appellate experience includes preparation of appellate briefs in state and federal court resulting in significant victories for clients. Mr. Schlecter also contributes to the law and motion practice of the firm, providing advice on and drafting dispositive motions such as demurrers and motions for summary  judgment as well as trial documents, such as jury instructions for civil rights cases. He also has experience in the areas of insurance defense and products liability, involving cases from landlord-tenant disputes to issues of benzene exposure.

His personal interests include football, traveling and history.
