Warren M. Williams is a partner at Hurrell Cantrall. He successfully represents various clients in federal and state personal injury and wrongful death litigation especially involving governmental entity liability (school district, county, city, departments and personnel). He defends his clients in actions involving alleged dangerous conditions of public property, traffic collisions, employment disputes, and allegations of abuse and of excessive force. In addition to other product liability claims, he represents corporate clients against toxic tort actions alleging benzene, asbestos and other toxic exposures in the aerospace industry.

Mr. Williams is licensed to practice in California and admitted to all of California’s federal judicial districts. He is also licensed to practice in New York.

Prior to joining Hurrell Cantrall, Mr. Williams was an associate with the Los Angeles office of a New York-based defense firm where he successfully defended airline, aircraft, and aerospace product defendants in federal and state personal injury and wrongful death litigation. The actions included airplane crashes, aircraft maintenance issues, embark/disembark injuries, alleged passenger discrimination, and disputes including lost luggage and flight cancelations/delays. He was also successful in defending toxic-tort and other product liability litigation actions, including benzene and asbestos exposure claims.

A cum laude graduate of Pepperdine Law School, Mr. Williams also received a certificate in dispute resolution from the Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution. He received the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Contracts, Legal Ethics and Alternative Dispute Resolution, was on the Dean’s List and served as senior staff of the Journal of the National Association of Administrative Law Judges. During a semester abroad in London, England, Mr. Williams represented Pepperdine as that semester’s top advocate which allowed him to compete in a mock hearing with English law students at the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn. In his first summer, he was a judicial extern for the Honorable Lourdes G. Baird of the United States District Court, Central District of California.

Mr. Williams was born in Los Angeles and spent his formative years in Santa Barbara where his father was a professor of Spanish and Portuguese literature at U.C.S.B. Mr. Williams received both his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah, where he successfully defended a master’s thesis on 19th Century Brazilian author, Machado de Assis. He taught five semesters of Portuguese language classes.

Fluent in Portuguese, Mr. Williams is conversational in Spanish and has some limited ability in German. He has volunteered his time with the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Dispute Resolution Services, and continues to volunteer his time in the community in various ways.

Warren, his wife Dorothea (an organist and pianist), and their four children are actively involved in their church, enjoy travel, good books and musical theatre as both spectators and occasional performers.
