Giselle Viñas Dhallin is a Partner at Hurrell Cantrall LLP.  She has been with the firm since 2012.

Ms. Dhallin is a defense litigator focusing in the practice areas of general liability, employment law, and governmental tort liability.  She is well versed in many industries and areas of law, and a trusted advisor to the firm’s clients.  She practices in state and federal court and has conducted arbitrations and trials.  She has excellent case management skills and is often assigned to matters where clients need exclusive trial counsel or for early adjudication of a case through dispositive motions.   She has represented Fortune 500 companies, insurance companies, municipalities, school districts, and various other governmental entities, and their executives and employees. 

Representative Matters:

  • Summary judgment was granted in favor of municipal client.  The case involved allegations of dangerous condition of public property.
  • Summary judgment was granted for law enforcement client.  This was an employment matter involving violations of federal civil rights and conspiracy claims, as well as the Fair Employment and Housing Act.
  • Voluntary dismissal was obtained in favor of municipal client after aggressive investigation uncovered fraudulent activities by the plaintiff.  The plaintiff claimed substantial injuries and losses as a result of a car accident.  
  • Represented excess insurer in high-profile premises liability matter and obtained optimal settlement without client contribution.
  • Obtained dismissal for client at the pleading stage based on anti-SLAPP grounds.
  • Full defense verdict on Fair Employment and Housing Act and Labor Code claims against law enforcement client and seven employees, including high-ranking officials.
  • For a Fortune 500 company in a premises liability action, negotiated a settlement where client received reimbursement of legal fees by co-defendants, and a dismissal was obtained from the plaintiff without client contribution towards global settlement.
