Dorisa Shahmirzai’s obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, and her Masters of Science degree in Public Health from Harvard University. She obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Davis School of Law.

Ms. Shahmirzai’s practice includes defending government entities and private clients against constitutional challenges to federal and state statutes, claims of excessive force, false arrest, unlawful seizures, claims of negligence and dangerous condition of public property, and toxic torts. In addition, she has represented private clients in commercial litigation, antitrust, entertainment, and intellectual property. She also has a wealth of experience in entertainment and technology-based transactions, including intellectual property acquisitions and licensing strategies for high technology and life science clients, including those in the areas of software, artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality.

Ms. Shahmirzai clerked with San Francisco Superior Court, Law, and Motion. In addition, she worked at Clifford Chance in Spain. She has also served as adjunct faculty at UCLA extension, teaching a course on negotiating deals in media and entertainment. She has authored articles at LA Lawyer Magazine and was selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star. She is currently serving as the City of Los Angeles Region 3 Representative in clean energy and sustainability to support green energy, environmental, and climate actions via public forums and community organizations.

During her spare time, Ms. Shahmirzai enjoys and practices fitness, Recreational ice-skating, and creative writing. Ms. Shahmirzai’s is admitted to practice in California and the District of Columbia
