Natalie U. Luongo joined Hurrell Cantrall in 2018. Ms. Luongo has over ten years of experience in litigation, representing individuals, businesses, and public entities in state and federal courts, arbitration, and administrative proceedings. Prior to joining Hurrell Cantrall, Ms. Luongo gained over five years of experience at a Los Angeles County defense firm working on employment, civil rights, and medical malpractice cases on behalf of public entities and private clients. Prior to relocating to California, Ms. Luongo practiced for four years in a boutique business law firm in Massachusetts, defending private clients in employment, contract, and business disputes.

Ms. Luongo has litigated a variety cases alleging discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and violations of state and federal civil rights. She has drafted several successful motions for summary judgment, including in a federal civil rights action arising under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 brought by two plaintiffs against nine defendants in federal court, in a two-plaintiff negligence action in favor of a government entity and five of its employees, and in a three-plaintiff discrimination and retaliation case arising under the FEHA on behalf of the public entity employer. She has successfully briefed the oppositions in two appeals before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Luongo has also written numerous successful motions to dismiss, demurrers and motions for judgment on the pleadings on behalf of the defense in employment and civil rights cases, resulting in the total dismissal of her clients. She has experience in all aspects of pretrial civil litigation, including discovery, depositions, law and motion, court appearances, settlement negotiations and mediation, and trial preparation.

In 2007 Ms. Luongo earned her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, where she was on the Dean’s List from 2006-2007. She earned her B.A. in English and American Literature from New York University in 2000. Ms. Luongo is admitted to all California State Courts, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, all state courts in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. She is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association.

In her spare time, Ms. Luongo enjoys reading fiction and spending time with her husband and rescue cats.
