Roderick Sasis grew up in San Diego, California and received his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in History from UCLA.  After college, he worked at two non-profit organizations that aimed to increase access to higher education to under-served communities.  He attended the UCLA School of Public Affairs as a Public Policy and International Affairs Fellow and the UCLA School of Law, concurrently receiving his Master of Arts in Urban Planning and Juris Doctorate with a concentration in Public Interest Law and Policy.  While in law school, he served as a managing editor of the Chicano-Latino Law Review.  He also served as an extern for the Honorable Ernest M. Hiroshige, Judge of the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Before joining Hurrell Cantrall LLP in 2013, Mr. Sasis’ practice focused on discovery and trial preparation of complex commercial litigation.  Since joining the firm, his practice has involved several areas of civil litigation defense, including government liability, employment law, products liability, and personal injury.  He has successfully defended public entities and private companies and has obtained judgments by way of law and motion practice, including the filing and arguing of dispositive motions, dismissals, or favorable settlements on behalf of his clients in state and federal court.  

Mr. Sasis is a member of the State Bar of California, the United States District Court, Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  

He is an avid fan of UCLA sports and the Los Angeles Lakers.  He enjoys spending time with family, particularly his triplet nephews and twin nephews.
