Kelly (Ka In) Chan graduated from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada in 2016 with a major in Political Science and a minor in Commerce. She obtained her Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School’s two-year J.D. program in 2018. During her time at Southwestern, Ms. Chan served as a Law Student Reporter, Law Student Liaison, a board member of Southwestern’s Asian Pacific Law Student Association and Southwestern’s Student Representative for the American Bar Association. She was also nominated for Ms. JD National Women’s Law Students Organization Leadership Academy hosted at Harvard Law School.

Prior to joining Hurrell Cantrall LLP, Ms. Chan gained experience in a wide range of civil litigation matters including employment, business, premises liability, trademark, patent, and general liability matters. In March 2021, she served as a co-author of an article published on the California Law Association Employment Law Review exploring the legal issue on association disability discrimination in the context of reasonable accommodation.

Ms. Chan is admitted to practice in all California state courts and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. During her free time, she enjoys hiking, exploring gourmet recipes, and attending concerts. She is also an active member of the Asian-Pacific community in Los Angeles.
