Lisa Y. An was born in Seoul, Korea and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2001. She attended Loyola University Chicago School of Law and obtained her Juris Doctor in 2005.

Ms. An is a civil litigation attorney representing clients in a variety of matters, including toxic tort, product liability, government entity liability, general liability and professional liability. She is involved in all phases of litigation in both state and federal courts, including extensive law and motion practice, working with experts, attendance at court hearings and mediations, taking and defending depositions, trial preparation and appellate work.

Ms. An returned to Hurrell Cantrall LLP in 2015 after four and a half years as an associate at a national AMLAW 200 firm where she focused her practice in the area of professional liability with particular emphasis on the defense of lawyers in malpractice and breach of fiduciary duty actions. Her secondary practice consisted of defending companies engaged in the manufacturing of a broad spectrum of products, including chemicals, chemical solvents, medical devices, and consumer products. In 2013, Ms. An second-chaired a trial which resulted in a defense verdict on behalf of a medical device manufacturer against claims by 65 plaintiffs by arguing the company was not the alter ego or successor in interest to the actual manufacturer of the devices.

Ms. An joined Hurrell Cantrall LLP originally in August 2006. Prior to that, she was assistant legal counsel at HJC America, Inc., a leading multi-national motorcycle helmet manufacturer, where she dealt extensively with regulatory and compliance matters, spearheaded a national recall campaign and handled multiple wrongful death products liability cases.
