(213) 426-2000

Blessing Ekpezu joined Hurrell Cantrall LLP in February 2021 and was recently elevated to Partner in recognition of her exceptional advocacy and results. Since joining the firm, Blessing has managed a wide range of matters in both state and federal courts, including employment law, civil rights, personal injury, public entity defense, and general liability. She handles all phases of litigation—from case inception through trial—and has authored and argued successful dispositive motions, including multiple summary judgment victories in high-value cases. Most recently, she helped secure a full defense verdict in a federal employment discrimination trial.

Before joining Hurrell Cantrall, Blessing practiced at a personal injury firm in Beverly Hills, where she handled both pre-litigation and litigation matters involving motor-vehicle accidents, premises liability, and medical malpractice.

Blessing began her legal career in Nigeria at a leading full-service law firm, where she represented corporate and individual clients in high-profile matters involving complex transactions, maritime law, and election petitions. She appeared before various courts across Nigeria, including the Supreme Court of Nigeria, gaining valuable courtroom experience early in her career.

Blessing earned her LL.B. (Juris Doctor equivalent) from the University of Abuja, graduating at the top of her class, and completed the Nigerian Law School’s professional licensure program in the top 2% of her cohort. She was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2016 and to the California State Bar in 2020.

Committed to continuous growth, Blessing is currently enrolled in the Stanford LEAD Executive Education Program, where she is sharpening her leadership and business strategy skills to better serve clients and mentor colleagues.

Outside of work, Blessing enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and exploring hiking trails.
